Shanghai Movie With John Cusack

A press conference has been held in London with the cast of the upcoming movie Shanghai. An occasion for John Cusack to introduce this new movie directed by Mikael Hafstrom:

The whole cast does not seem that much enthusiast in this video... Even Director Mikael Hafstrom looks tired (bored?), only Chow Yun-Fat seems to be alive... I want to give this movie a chance though because I really want to see this reconstitution of the great past of Shanghai.

Shanghai Behind The Scenes Clip

Shanghai is an upcoming movie starring John Cusack and three other Asian star actors Gong Li, Chow Yun-Fat and Ken Watanabe. The movie set in Shanghai, China, in the 1940's, mixing romance, thriller and mystery, is directed by Mikael Hafstrom. It should be released at the end of December 2008.

Here below a behind-the-scenes featurette of the movie Shanghai:

The Plot:
"In the months leading up to the bombing of Pearl Harbor, an American man arrives in Shanghai to find his friend recently murdered. In investigating his friend's death, he stumbles upon a secret the United States government has been keeping and falls in love in the process." (Source: Wikipedia)

Shooting began on location in Shanghai. But the Chinese government revoked the production team's authorization to film. The set was hence forced to move. They settled down in Bangkok before moving to the UK for a few scenes.

Despite great names in the cast there is not that much buzz around Shanghai so far. So the December release of Shanghai is not yet definitely confirmed...
